Here Comes… the Dutchess

 Here Comes… the Dutchess

Fergalicious really is the perfect word to describe this woman. Not to state the obvious, but it is inventive, just like Fergie herself. Also, everything Fergie does, we seem to gobble up like some delicious little treat. From way back in her Kids Incorporated days (we still find ourselves humming the theme song every once in a while) to her foray into girl-group-pop as a Wild Orchid member to the Black Eyed Peas and finally her solo success, Fergie keeps us on the edge of our seats waiting to see what she will do next.

Fergie really is a pop-culture chameleon. She has worked her way through child star, bubblegum pop princess, hip-hop diva, and actress. She has been generously rewarded for her talents with various music awards, a solo Grammy nomination, and Grammy awards with the Black Eyed Peas. Meanwhile, she beat an intense drug addiction, encountered a few public mishaps (like when she peed per pants onstage—ew), and still landed one heck of a guy, Las Vegas’s Josh Duhamel.

From there, her star has been steadily rising. Earlier this year, Fergie provided the song “Labels of Love” for the Sex & the City movie—yet another fabulous hit. She also committed herself to packing on some pounds to star alongside Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz in the movie Nine.

Then in December, amid swirling, and denied, pregnancy rumors, Fergie and her honey set a date to wed on January 10th, only 5 short days from now! We’re so excited for the two of them. If you were able to catch Fergie in her hosting duties on New Years Eve you could have seen the love between the two lovebirds. Maybe Fergie should take a peek at Max & Chloe for her big day because, if you didn’t know, we’ve got oodles of gorgeous Bridal Jewelry for the special day.

We’d love to see her do something traditional and classic for her wedding. It would be something so different for Fergie because we’re all used to seeing her in her funky, sexy outfits all the time. Perhaps the Lata K Illusion Pearl Drop Necklace for something elegant and chic. Maybe she’d go for something classic like Zasha’s Gold Pearl Cross Necklace. Another option would be to skip the necklace altogether and just wear a pair of gorgeous earrings. Brian Danielle Diamond Dangle Earrings would do the trick for that look! Whatever direction Fergie decides to go in for her impending nuptials, we’re sure she will make an absolutely beautiful bride!

When it’s Classic, it’ll Last Forever
Posted July 16th, 2008

classic1.jpg

It only takes seconds after Audrey Hepburn crosses the busy New York street in Breakfast at Tiffany for us to take in her timeless style and realize something magical is about to happen. The little black dress, noir sunglasses, pearls, and low heeled pumps quickly became a fashion formula for women all around the world. Trends may come and go and fads will always fade in and out as quickly as the seasons change, but looks that are both elegant and classic will withstand the test of time. Though Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Elizabeth Taylor made their indelible marks on Hollywood over thirty years ago, their classic looks have remained something to aspire to.

It’s essential to find gorgeous knockout pieces that are understated and demure (at first glance!) to perfect this class act. Since diamonds will always be a girl’s best friend all the way to the end, add Brian Danielle’s 14k white gold Diamond Blossom Necklace, the Zasha White Gold Hatched Ring, and the Tracy Matthews’ Delicate Single Textured Ribbon Bracelet for a look that’s reminiscent of these iconic women.

You’ll look classically elegant in a pair of tiny stud earrings. Try Brian Danielle’s White Gold Multi Diamond Studs for a splurge and Tracy Matthews’ Sterling Silver Nugget Studs if you’re looking to save. The sterling silver Jessica Elliot Antique Rosary with Clover and Pearls and the Exhibitionist Sterling Silver Serpent and Pyramid Stone Ring are great alternatives!

Just because you’re following in these fashion icons’ footsteps doesn’t mean you have to avoid color or gold jewelry. Add a splash of color with the Marcia Moran Blue Quartz Ring and Tracy Matthews’ Smooth Medium Cuff to make your night even more special. Try our recommendations, and look to designers like Brian Danielle, Kacey K, Kenneth Jay Lane, Tracy Matthews, Jessica Elliot, and Zasha for jewelry that twinkles with the vintage Hollywood classic style you crave.
