Long Necklaces
Posted August 4th, 2008

blog-84-longnecklaces-jpeg.jpg

Long necklaces are an understated item. Graceful and delicate or chunky and bold, these necklaces can make an outfit really stand out. We loved Kristen Bell’s ensemble at the Teen Choice Awards this weekend. Not only was her outfit extremely flattering, but the long necklace gave her an extra touch of sophistication. We love the colors too! Whether flashy or demure, long necklaces can work with any ensemble.

For a touch of Old Hollywood glamor, try the Jessica Elliot Gold Long Iron Clover 3-Way Necklace. In lovely 18k gold vermeil, this necklace is breathtaking. Turn heads with the Sogoli Silver XL Chain. The mixed textures will complement any simple outfit. A similar style, the Kenneth Jay Lane White Beaded Chain is casual and gives off a vintage vibe.

Looking for something more delicate? Try the Anna Beck Gold Plated Multi-Disk Necklace. It is simple, chic and sophisticated.

Spice up any outfit with a more daring piece: the Samantha House Jaqueline Necklace. This necklace is very unique and an eye-catching addition to evening apparel.

Longing some color reminiscent of Kristen Bell’s necklace? Try the Wendy Mink Multi Stone Necklace or the Calico Juno Turquoise Necklace.

Destination: Resorts

We love the fall and spring lines designers produce effortlessly twice a year, but we have our reasons for falling head over heels for the resort collections too. The Resort 2009 collections are spectacular this year. It’s versatile and chic, and the abundance of lightweight fabrics are perfect for the warm weather. It’s not a stretch imagining going to a Hamptons Barbeque, a Jersey Shore bonfire, a Miami club, the casino in Vegas, a shopping trip in Quebec, or the office in any one of these beautiful Resort 2009 designs. Designers infused the runway with colorful classic and edgy designs. 3.1 Phillip Lim and Missoni took the classic shift dress and added a punch of color and a gorgeous structured pattern that added intrigue to the outfits. Marchesa’s ethereal quality on the runway was embodied in the light blue swirl maxidress pictured. The abundance of color on the runway for these shows prove our favorite designers had fun taking different color palettes, putting together unexpected color combinations on paper, and seeing their dream designs through to the end.

A splash of color in your jewelry is perfect during the summer, and taking some risks where that is concerned is always a good thing to do. The Marcia Moran Blue Quartz Ring is a sensational eye-catching cocktail ring. Whether you wear it to impress during the day or at night, the rich sapphire color of the blue quartz will look alluring along with the rest of your ensemble.

Anna Beck Set of 4 Stackable Rings is trendy and versatile; whether you’re looking for a cool silver or warm gold accent, you have the option of wearing either of the Anna Beck rings, and if you’re feeling inclined to, wear both for a beautiful contrasting effect. The Presh Gold Chain Citrine Hoop Earrings are as edgy as the new Resort designs. The classic hoop earring is reinvented with three chains spanning its interior and a citrine gemstone suspended directly into the center of the hoop. You’ll really shake things up with the gorgeous Jami Rodriguez Tangled Three Hoops Earrings. We love how the delicate hoop shape is repeated twice. The effect is a twist on both the hoop earring and the drop earring styles that’s stunning.

We love the texture of the Tracy Matthews Small Hammered Cuff. It looks great with spaghetti strap or strapless dresses, like the Ralph Lauren model’s dress. Try the Leila Floral Bangles for a fun patterned touch tonight. You can choose between the four styles and match it to your outfit of choice. The Brian Danielle Multi Stone Necklace is fantastic! The shiny luster of the pearls, and citrine, amethyst, and topaz gemstones is undeniably mouth-watering. The necklace captures the light and beautiful spirit of the Resort 2009 designs in a wonderful way.

Turn heads in all of the jewelry we’ve suggested. These phenomenal jewelry designs are perfect for this summer when your true destination is: relaxation. Go there and indulge in these Marcia Moran, Anna Beck, Presh, Jami Rodriguez, Leila, Tracy Matthews, and Brian Danielle designs. We promise you’ll have a vacation to remember!

Fun Under the Grecian Sun with Mamma Mia!
Posted July 22nd, 2008

mammamia.jpg

Mamma Mia! premiered this weekend in theaters bringing in a cool $21 million, and it’s been the most talked about musical-movie since last year’s Hairspray. The ABBA infused musical - each of the musical numbers is a recreation of 80’s pop dance group ABBA’s hit songs - takes place on a small Greek Island. Meryl Streep plays Donna, the mother of 20 year old bride-to-be Sophie, Amanda Seyfriend of Mean Girls.  Sophie’s always wanted to be escorted down the aisle by her father, and although she has never laid eyes on him, she wants that dream to come true. She reads her mother’s diary and invites three of the men she dated with the hope of discovering her true father. It’s a lighthearted cute musical about holding on to what counts the most and falling in love all over again.

Greece is alluring because of its perpetual summer. The fashion style that’s emerged in that region is enriched by the good food, sparkling blue water, and plentiful sunlight. In all of the Mamma Mia!  scenes the cast is sunkissed and glowing.  We’ll show you how you can infuse your life with a bit of the magic and transport Greece, love and happiness into your jewelry box.

Look as radiant as Sophie does by the sea in a sapphire outfit and delicate gold jewelry. The Arena Copenhagen Lonia Gold Heart Necklace has a sweetheart charm that’s perfect to pull an outfit together. Add the Arena CPH Lova Gold Heart Studs for a nice finishing touch, and you’ll be radiant. GK Designs Live Love Laugh Dream Charms necklace is a great alternative that will make your appearance even more appealing. The message of the necklace is embodied in the heart, peace, horseshoe, “dream,” and “Live Love Laugh” charms, and it’ll inspire you everyday.

Donna’s free-spirited personality is reflected in her jewelry. The chunky cocktail rings suggest she’s down to earth and playful. The Melinda Maria Hammered Ring and Rebecca Norman Turquoise Ring will look you. Meryl Streep’s character Donna glows in her chandelier earrings in the last screen shot. Either the Calico Juno Rio Chandelier Earrings or the Jami Rodriguez Tangled Hoop Chain Earrings will make you glow too!

A Splash of Purple on the Red Carpet
Posted July 21st, 2008

accessorizingjeweldresses.jpg

Jewel toned dresses in bright bold colors strike the right key on big nights. Grey’s Anatomy’s Sara Ramirez and Forgetting Sarah Marshall’s Kristen Bell wore gorgeous royal purple strapless dresses when they glided down the red carpet this year. Sara looked fantastic at January’s Screen Actors Guild Awards in her Angel Sanchez gown, and Kristen’s cute Jill Stuart minidress was a hit at last week’s ESPY Awards. Sara played up her dress with silver and diamonds, and Kristen flirted with gold, which goes to show that you can make any outfit work with either, depending on the look you’re going for.

To get Sara Ramirez’s stacked bracelet look, try either the silver or gold bracelets from the Blu Textured Bangles, Kenneth Jay Lane Single Pyramid Cuff, and Blu Diamond Cuff Bracelets sets. Love the way Sara’s smile shines as brightly as her drop earrings? You can dazzle the camera on your big night with the Calico Juno Chandelier Drop Earrings, and finish your look with the Lorelei Gold Crackle Mary Clutch.

Kristen Bell kept her jewelry to a minimum, pairing two gold bangle bracelets with a gorgeous pendant on a yellow gold chain. Choose two of the Lisa Stewart Gold Gem Bangles or snag all three if you’re inspired by Kristen’s look. For a bit of trendy vintage charm, slip on the Melinda Maria Pod Cuff; the double bracelet will create the illusion of two unusal bracelets joined by a gorgeous centerpiece. Adding a wild card to the mix never hurt anyone, and the 22k yellow gold plated Pade Vavra Snake Cuff is one that will take your look from beautiful to gorgeous.

We love the risk Kristen took with her necklace length. Often we pair our strapless dresses with short necklace chains, or we opt not to wear a necklace like Sara did at the SAG Awards, or a short choker-style necklace. A princess or matinee necklace style with a chain that skims the top of your dress is a flattering trend that offers balance when you wear a strapless dress. Either the Kenneth Jay Lane White Flower Necklace or the Gorjana Gold Cupid Necklace are perfect lengths that you can wear to capture the look.
