We love the fall and spring lines designers produce effortlessly twice a year, but we have our reasons for falling head over heels for the resort collections too. The Resort 2009 collections are spectacular this year. It’s versatile and chic, and the abundance of lightweight fabrics are perfect for the warm weather. It’s not a stretch imagining going to a Hamptons Barbeque, a Jersey Shore bonfire, a Miami club, the casino in Vegas, a shopping trip in Quebec, or the office in any one of these beautiful Resort 2009 designs. Designers infused the runway with colorful classic and edgy designs. 3.1 Phillip Lim and Missoni took the classic shift dress and added a punch of color and a gorgeous structured pattern that added intrigue to the outfits. Marchesa’s ethereal quality on the runway was embodied in the light blue swirl maxidress pictured. The abundance of color on the runway for these shows prove our favorite designers had fun taking different color palettes, putting together unexpected color combinations on paper, and seeing their dream designs through to the end.

A splash of color in your jewelry is perfect during the summer, and taking some risks where that is concerned is always a good thing to do. The Marcia Moran Blue Quartz Ring is a sensational eye-catching cocktail ring. Whether you wear it to impress during the day or at night, the rich sapphire color of the blue quartz will look alluring along with the rest of your ensemble.

Anna Beck Set of 4 Stackable Rings is trendy and versatile; whether you’re looking for a cool silver or warm gold accent, you have the option of wearing either of the Anna Beck rings, and if you’re feeling inclined to, wear both for a beautiful contrasting effect. The Presh Gold Chain Citrine Hoop Earrings are as edgy as the new Resort designs. The classic hoop earring is reinvented with three chains spanning its interior and a citrine gemstone suspended directly into the center of the hoop. You’ll really shake things up with the gorgeous Jami Rodriguez Tangled Three Hoops Earrings. We love how the delicate hoop shape is repeated twice. The effect is a twist on both the hoop earring and the drop earring styles that’s stunning.

We love the texture of the Tracy Matthews Small Hammered Cuff. It looks great with spaghetti strap or strapless dresses, like the Ralph Lauren model’s dress. Try the Leila Floral Bangles for a fun patterned touch tonight. You can choose between the four styles and match it to your outfit of choice. The Brian Danielle Multi Stone Necklace is fantastic! The shiny luster of the pearls, and citrine, amethyst, and topaz gemstones is undeniably mouth-watering. The necklace captures the light and beautiful spirit of the Resort 2009 designs in a wonderful way.

Turn heads in all of the jewelry we’ve suggested. These phenomenal jewelry designs are perfect for this summer when your true destination is: relaxation. Go there and indulge in these Marcia Moran, Anna Beck, Presh, Jami Rodriguez, Leila, Tracy Matthews, and Brian Danielle designs. We promise you’ll have a vacation to remember!

A Splash of Purple on the Red Carpet
Posted July 21st, 2008

accessorizingjeweldresses.jpg

Jewel toned dresses in bright bold colors strike the right key on big nights. Grey’s Anatomy’s Sara Ramirez and Forgetting Sarah Marshall’s Kristen Bell wore gorgeous royal purple strapless dresses when they glided down the red carpet this year. Sara looked fantastic at January’s Screen Actors Guild Awards in her Angel Sanchez gown, and Kristen’s cute Jill Stuart minidress was a hit at last week’s ESPY Awards. Sara played up her dress with silver and diamonds, and Kristen flirted with gold, which goes to show that you can make any outfit work with either, depending on the look you’re going for.

To get Sara Ramirez’s stacked bracelet look, try either the silver or gold bracelets from the Blu Textured Bangles, Kenneth Jay Lane Single Pyramid Cuff, and Blu Diamond Cuff Bracelets sets. Love the way Sara’s smile shines as brightly as her drop earrings? You can dazzle the camera on your big night with the Calico Juno Chandelier Drop Earrings, and finish your look with the Lorelei Gold Crackle Mary Clutch.

Kristen Bell kept her jewelry to a minimum, pairing two gold bangle bracelets with a gorgeous pendant on a yellow gold chain. Choose two of the Lisa Stewart Gold Gem Bangles or snag all three if you’re inspired by Kristen’s look. For a bit of trendy vintage charm, slip on the Melinda Maria Pod Cuff; the double bracelet will create the illusion of two unusal bracelets joined by a gorgeous centerpiece. Adding a wild card to the mix never hurt anyone, and the 22k yellow gold plated Pade Vavra Snake Cuff is one that will take your look from beautiful to gorgeous.

We love the risk Kristen took with her necklace length. Often we pair our strapless dresses with short necklace chains, or we opt not to wear a necklace like Sara did at the SAG Awards, or a short choker-style necklace. A princess or matinee necklace style with a chain that skims the top of your dress is a flattering trend that offers balance when you wear a strapless dress. Either the Kenneth Jay Lane White Flower Necklace or the Gorjana Gold Cupid Necklace are perfect lengths that you can wear to capture the look.

The Sky’s the Limit
Posted July 17th, 2008

There are all sorts of looks you can create, so long as you’re willing to take some risks. What happens when you dabble with silver jewelry, flirt with gold and gemstones, and go all out with all three? Well, for one thing, you’re going to have a chic look that’s totally you. The great thing is that when you’re selecting your jewelry, you don’t have to stay within one brand and you can scroll through several brands’ silver jewelry designs at once and mix and match different pieces.

Jennifer Zeuner Sterling Silver Serpent Charm Bracelet is a stunning piece for your look, and matches the Exhibitionist Sterling Silver Pave Snake Earrings perfectly. Lisa Stewart’s vintage Silver Teardrop Necklace  great when you add one of Christie Martin’s Old English Initial Necklace. If you have a second piercing, the Arena Copenhagen Love Silver Heart Studs will soften your look.

goldpinkberry1.jpgIf you’re wearing gold jewelry, soften your image by adding colorful gemstones to the mix. Kacey K’s rose and yellow gold Two Tone Monogram Ring has the sort of appeal that’s glamorous and charming. Rebecca Norman Pink Tourmaline Teardrop Earrings have a delicate appeal, and the pink tourmaline gemstones will sparkle alongside the rose gold of the Kacey K ring. One, two, three, four, it’s up to you how wear it. The funky hammered Gorjana Gold Square Stackable Rings are bring just the right amount of spice to this look. Add the Jessica Elliot Gold Iron Ornate Lariat and the Jami Rodriguez Tangled Nature Necklace for an unusual layered necklace look, and the Rebecca Norman Gold Bangle Set to complete the ensemble.

Feeling bold? Don’t be scared to skirt the rule of mixing silver with gold. This is one rule that was meant to be broken. If you see 2 gemstones on different designs that look good, go for it and make it work! Playing with fire and knowing you won’t get burned has never been more fun.mixed-collage1.jpg

Pair the Kacey K Cutout Single Letter Gold Mongram Necklace with the Arena CPH Malil Necklace to get a look that’s put together and chic. Personalized monogram pendants look great with gemstones. The Exhibitionist Sterling Silver Serpent and Pyramid Stone Ring is an impressive sturdy ring that will finish your look with quite a bit of style, and it will look great with the Tracy Matthews Marquise Faceted Bracelet. Add a playful element with one of Jessica Kagan Cushman’s quote bangles. Her “Never Give Up,” or “I Want to Be the Girl with the Most Cake” bangles might be exactly what you want for tonight. Lata K Black Onyx Illusion Long Earrings is the perfect finishing touch; Kenneth Jay Lane Black Wood Teardrop Earrings are a great substitute if you’d like a more playful look. When it’s Classic, it’ll Last Forever
Posted July 16th, 2008

classic1.jpg

It only takes seconds after Audrey Hepburn crosses the busy New York street in Breakfast at Tiffany for us to take in her timeless style and realize something magical is about to happen. The little black dress, noir sunglasses, pearls, and low heeled pumps quickly became a fashion formula for women all around the world. Trends may come and go and fads will always fade in and out as quickly as the seasons change, but looks that are both elegant and classic will withstand the test of time. Though Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Elizabeth Taylor made their indelible marks on Hollywood over thirty years ago, their classic looks have remained something to aspire to.

It’s essential to find gorgeous knockout pieces that are understated and demure (at first glance!) to perfect this class act. Since diamonds will always be a girl’s best friend all the way to the end, add Brian Danielle’s 14k white gold Diamond Blossom Necklace, the Zasha White Gold Hatched Ring, and the Tracy Matthews’ Delicate Single Textured Ribbon Bracelet for a look that’s reminiscent of these iconic women.

You’ll look classically elegant in a pair of tiny stud earrings. Try Brian Danielle’s White Gold Multi Diamond Studs for a splurge and Tracy Matthews’ Sterling Silver Nugget Studs if you’re looking to save. The sterling silver Jessica Elliot Antique Rosary with Clover and Pearls and the Exhibitionist Sterling Silver Serpent and Pyramid Stone Ring are great alternatives!

Just because you’re following in these fashion icons’ footsteps doesn’t mean you have to avoid color or gold jewelry. Add a splash of color with the Marcia Moran Blue Quartz Ring and Tracy Matthews’ Smooth Medium Cuff to make your night even more special. Try our recommendations, and look to designers like Brian Danielle, Kacey K, Kenneth Jay Lane, Tracy Matthews, Jessica Elliot, and Zasha for jewelry that twinkles with the vintage Hollywood classic style you crave.

Like It, Love It: Heidi Montag’s Chic Style
Posted July 15th, 2008

jessicaelliott.jpg

Reality TV show star Heidi Montag of The Hills may have been key to the show’s success because as soon as she and her best friend, Lauren Conrad, fell on the outs, thousands of viewers tuned into MTV with a big bag of popcorn and their best friends at their sides, vowing that they’d never let a guy come between them like that. Though the guy in question that supposedly came between the girls was Heidi’s boyfriend, there’s something magnetic about her smile and sense of style that pulls us in anyway. Since she’s stepped into the limelight, we’ve admired her dresses, bags, and jewelry because she makes it look so easy. She’s perfected the daytime casual chic look, and at night, she’s always ready to step out on the town dressed to the nines. Heidi has a knack for blending the latest trends with the rest of her wardrobe seamlessly, a sign that she’s constantly updating her look and adjusting it to stay in style. In a photoshoot for US Weekly, Heidi paired her Jessica Elliot Gold Iron Clover Cuff with a pair of oversized gold hoop earrings. If you like Heidi’s look, you can’t go wrong with a pair of Gorjana Gold G Ring Hoops which would look fantastic with this 18k gold vermeil clover cut-out cuff bracelet.
