Caribbean Getaway
Posted August 18th, 2009

caribbean.jpg

Planning a Caribbean getaway or perhaps a staycaction involving piña coladas and a tanning bed? Whether you are walking the sandy beaches or gazing at your beach screen saver, we have island inspired jewels sure to have you singing: “Don’t worry about a thing, every little thing is gonna be alright.” These accessories will have you island ready, even if the only island you see is in your kitchen.

Orka Mesica friendship bead bracelets in various colors are ideal island wear. These beads are reminiscent of the bracelets vendors try pushing on you except they don’t fall apart once you hand the money over. We love the bright purple bracelet paired with the light yellow bead bracelet. Stock up on a few of these bead bracelets and wear them anytime you want to be reminded of the sand between your toes.

As seen in OK! Magazine, the Blu Bijoux Gold Plated Necklace with Assorted Flowers looks divine with the summer sun dress you are waiting to break out. This necklace is perfect for those late night dinners and great for mixers once you get back on the mainland. Combine this necklace with the Blu Bijoux Cherry Blossom Flower Ring and you are ready for a night on the town. Who needs flowers in their hair, when you have this beautiful arrangement to wear around your neck.

For added splashes of paradise throughout the summer, we recommend Yochi Anchors Away Necklace, Ben-Amun Blue Enamel Flower Earrings with Crystal, W/A Studios Pacific Charm Bracelet and Blu Bijoux Orange Lucite Circle Earrings. Bows and Bow ties
Posted July 28th, 2009

bows.jpg

From Rihanna to Ashley Olsen, we’re seeing women ditch the usual glamorous gown and opt for a tuxedo inspired ensemble on the red carpet. Magazine editors have been requesting masculine pieces: blazers, white oxfords and tailored pants for their fashion guides. We don’t advocate wearing an actual tuxedo out for an evening, but pairing jeans with a sharp blazer or the staple white oxford is always a go. There are clever ways to incorporate accessories typically geared for men such as ties or pocket squares. We love the idea borrowing the bow tie, typically reserved for men, and pairing it with a simple gold necklace, a strand of pearls or as a statement ring. If you loved wearing bows in your hair as a child, this is an upgrade for your adult collection.

Pearls paired with a bow offer the perfect mix of feminine sass with masculine class. We recommend Jami Rodriguez Gold and White Agate Bowtie Earrings, Carolee Crystal Bow with Pearl Earrings, Zaria Bow on a Strand of Pearls Necklace and Carolee Crystal Bow on a Pearl Bracelet. Carolee Crystal Bow with Pearl Earrings and Carolee Crystal Bow on a Pearl Bracelet feature Australian crystal bows and are elegant enough for weddings, date nights and other special occasions that require a little something extra.

For softer bows to add to ensemble, Jami Rodriguez Gold Bowtie Necklace and Archive Design Brass “Amour” Charm Necklace are a perfect fit. We love the mesh bow, Parisian flair and vintage look of the Archive necklace, and in essence the entire Archive collection. The Jami Rodriguez Gold Bowtie Necklace looks stylish paired with a v-neck shirt or strapless dress. Pair the necklace with Jami Rodriguez Gold and White Agate Bowtie Earrings or Jami Rodriguez Orange Bowtie Ballerina Hoop Earrings for a complete signature bow look.

If you love wearing the newest trends, try Erica Anenberg Bow Double Ring. We blogged about Lauren Conrad’s double finger ring and the designs of Erica Anenberg, and she just happens to have a bow double finger ring. Here’s your chance to mix two hot trends for a dynomite look! We love the femininity of the bow on the double finger ring. Looking for more style tips and trends? Whitney Port’s Drop Necklace
Posted July 15th, 2009

whitney-port.jpg

Whitney Port was out celebrating the 40th anniversary of the lunar landing in New York City, when we noticed her polished drop necklace. Ms. Port is known for eye for fashion and exquisite taste in designers, clothing and the latest accessories. From watching her on The Hills and The City we’re constantly in awe of her knack of  finding the right accessories to coordinate with any outfit. This ensemble she wore on the red carpet is no exception. We love the drop necklace, and the balance it creates for the outfit. We found three necklaces similar to Whitney’s style as shown, allowing you to replicate her look for your red carpet moments.

For sleek necklace options, we recommend ABS Multi Strand Black Diamond Necklace, Gerard Yosca Pearl and Seafoam Drop Necklace and Courtney Simmelkjaer Obsidian Drop Necklace. We love the black diamonds featured on the ABS necklace and the pearl and seafoam green beads present on the Gerard Yosca necklace. If you are looking for an edge to your necklace, we suggest the Courtney Simmelkjaer necklace. Large obsidian and pyrite nuggets dangle from a brass chain. Beneath each large nugget hangs a smaller amethyst nugget, a round of gleaming Swarovski crystals, and a tiny amethyst bead. Elephants: A Symbol for Wisdom and Luck
Posted July 13th, 2009

elephant.jpg

Usually when someone mentions symbols of luck you think of the number seven, four-leaf clovers and horseshoes. Since we love sharing the latest trends, you can officially add an elephant to the list of items bringing you luck. According to an ancient adage, you are supposed to keep an elephant near your door to keep out bad luck and bring good luck to everyone who lives there. Keeping an elephant by your door may not always be feasible, so we recommend the stylish elephant charms on select jewelry at Max and Chloe. From necklaces to charm bracelets, we have a mix of elephant inspired accessories to bring you luck no matter the motivation.

One of our favorite designers Jami Rodriguez,  has coordinating elephant and amethyst jewelry. Together or separately, you can wear the Jami Rodriguez Elephant Amethyst Drop Earrings, bracelet and necklace. The amethyst stone provides a delicate compliment to the gold plated elephant charm. The multi-strand bracelet and long chain necklace complete this striking ensemble and the added elephants are sure to bring you not only extra luck, but extra admiration. Along with the Jami Rodriguez elephant necklace, we love Archive Design Tiny Good Luck Elephant with Small Brass Tag NecklaceGK Designs Lucky Pendant and Charms Necklace and Emily & Ashley Double Elephant Pendant Necklace. The Emily & Ashley necklace features two engraved elephants with interlocking trunks on a gold disc, symbolizing friendship.

The elephant luck trend would not be complete without bracelets and a good ring. Try the Kenneth Jay Lane Black Elephant Bracelet, Ben-Amun Gold Elephant Charm Bracelet and Presh Gold Elephant Ring. Hilary Duff is a fan of the elephant bangle and other animal inspired bracelets by Kenneth Jay Lane. Across the board we stress the importance of a few great statement pieces and selecting a necklace with an elephant charm should be one of the go-to pieces in your collection.
