We were quite surprised to see Megan Fox on the red carpet wearing a snow leopard shirt, black pants and motorcycle jacket, since she has been rocking glamorous dresses lately. Not that we aren’t a huge fan of the big dresses, but we adore this rock and relaxed look from Ms. Fox and Bones star Emily Deschanel. This trend reminded us of the felidae accessories we have from Kenneth Jay Lane, Blu Bijoux and Sydney Evan.

We all have favorite animals that we identify with, think are cute and can’t wait to visit as the zoo… maybe you even sported an animal backpack (or still do) and can’t seem to part with your favorite bear stuffed animal (no judgment here). We all know those old Will Smith lyrics that have become a mantra come mid-June every year: “Summer, summer, summertime/ Time to sit back and unwind.” Now that we’ve hit the June 21st mark, we’re officially in the summer season. Whether or not it actually feels like summer is open to debate. However, despite the recent inundation of rainfall that left New Yorkers wondering when they’d been picked up and dropped in Seattle, we’ve begun catching glimpses of elusive sunshine and summer heat. Why, in no time at all, we’ll all be skipping out of the office a little early (shh!) to get a head-start on weekend beach getaways.

Naturally, shore-side festivities present the perfect opportunity to flaunt some especially whimsical fashion choices, and just because you’re wearing less clothing doesn’t mean you also need to scrimp in the accessories department. Look at all of the celebrities who wind up flaunting their beach bodies in magazines. They don’t let their swimsuit do all the fashion legwork, and you shouldn’t either. Instead, use the beachy scenery as inspiration for the looks you choose.

The thing to keep in mind is not to go overboard with your jewelry. Because we don’t recommend sporting your pieces while you splash around in the ocean, keeping your accessory-count to a minimum will decrease your towel-to-tide speed because there is less to remove.
